Gutter Cleaning
Getting house gutters cleaned out will help prevent water overflowing from roof valleys and guttering saving headaches and a lot of money in repairs. Water overflows can damage anything from eaves, facias, ceilings, roof trusses and rafters and the list goes on. A lack of gutter cleaning will also fill up soakwells over time and cause gutters and downpipes to rust.
With all gutter cleaning jobs, additional charges will apply if there is gutter guard installed or an excessive amount of leaves.
We do. If we find any pre-existing tiles that are cracked on your roof, we can repair them for $10 per tile.
We do. When cleaning out gutters we always check over downpipes, ensuring they are functional. When we notice a downpipe is blocked, we flush it clear.
We use a range of different methods to clean the gutters depending on the job. When it's wet or has been raining, we manually clean gutters out by hand or by gutter vac to prevent mess going everywhere. When dry, it ranges from manually cleaning the gutters out by hand to using our gutter vac, to blowing out the gutters and then cleaning up afterwards.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. While we do have a gutter vac, some jobs are not suitable for it. So we use it when we know it will do the best job.
When we first started cleaning gutters, we used to take away everything. However we realised that this was leading to a great deal of waste with hundreds and hundreds of garbage bags being used to dispose of all the leaves and muck found in gutters. To lower the use of single use, disposable plastic, we made the decision to use reusable plastic tubs and customers' green bins to spread the load. The result is we have been able to dramatically cut down the use of plastic garbage bags, and now they are only used sparingly when required.
Gutter guard - while it has a purpose in some applications; often it leads to neglect or a lack of gutter cleaning. Over time, while larger leaves may be kept out by some of the gutter guards, a lot of the smaller debris, decomposed material, dirt gets through and over time builds up in the gutters. After a couple of years moss also starts developing and if no cleaning is done, it will cause water overflows from the gutters. Regular cleaning is still required if you have gutter guard.
Yes. The reason why we have to charge more for cleaning gutters with gutter guard is due to the additional labour associated with cleaning them properly. Many gutter cleaners will underquote for jobs with gutter guard, clean just on top of the gutter guards and then overtime issues result from gutters not being cleaned properly. With gutter guard installed, generally the guards have to be either removed or cleaned on top and underneath to prevent a build up of debris and moss growing under the gutter guard. Gutter guard installation over the whole house results in a 25-150% additional charge on top of a normal gutter cleaning quote without gutter guard.
Generally all quoting for gutter cleaning is done online using satellite imagery. This allows us to provide a quote rapidly saving you time. All we require is a name, contact number/email and an address.
Yes. If the gutters haven't been cleaned for couple of years, we would recommend getting them cleaned. Over time, dust and debris will accumulate and moss start to grow. In time, this will cause your gutters to overflow into the eaves.
This depends on how many trees are around. The more trees, the more often. Some jobs are clean every 2-3 months, some jobs are cleaned every 6 months, some jobs every 12 months, and if there is no trees, every couple of years.
No. We only offer gutter and solar panel cleaning services. Installation or repairs to gutters or downpipes need to be carried out by a roof plumber.
Solar Panel Cleaning
Clean solar panels will help maximise the efficiency of the system, saving you on your power bill. If you compare your windscreen on your car between where your wiper wipes, and were it doesn't reach - this can help highlight the difference between clean and dirty solar panels.
We use a specially designed water-fed pole system that has a scrubbing brush and pad. The water that is used to clean your panels is purified, meaning it prevents water marks.
As cleaning chemicals can compromise the panels, only purified water is used. This prevents hard water stains caused by just the use of tap water.
This can depend on the location of the home and angle that the panels are mounted on. Living close to the beach with the salty air, living in new estates with a lot of development still undergoing and living close to a lot of trees can all greatly increase how dirty panels get. The more flat your panels are mounted, the more dust that will accumulate.
